INTRODUCTION TO TWITTER

Twitter is a free  platform that allows you publish Tweets that are 140 characters or less.

Twitter followers are the platforms equivalent of “Facebook Fans” and “YouTube Subscribers”. Gaining real and genuine Twitter followers enables you to become an influencer in your market place, build relationships and drive website traffic and sales on demand.

  1. CUSTOMIZING YOUR PROFILE

    With millions of accounts already activated, to stand out from the crowd, you must create an original account to attract followers. In the top right corner of the main page, you can see an arrow next to your user name. Clicking
  2. ESTABLISHING GUIDELINES

    By now, your Twitter account has a nice customized outlook and is ready to be shown to the world. Because Twitter users need to keep interacting with each other, it is important that there is always someone in your company managing your Twitter account and its updates.
  3. Now that you are familiar with how Twitter works, it is time to build your database of contacts. On who “Who to follow” look at the left side of the page.  The window that suggests you to Names of people. When you click on view all it brings the list of suggested names and an option to search a person using full names.
    1. Rather than checking every single Tweet posted, which would be tedious, if not impossible, there is an easier way to monitor what people have been writing to and about you. From Twitter’s homepage, click on the “@Mentions” thumbnail. This page displays all the Tweets that contain your user name preceded by @. You can see who the sender is above each post.
  4. Many would describe Twitter as a virtual office party. It is professional, yet informal and somewhat entertaining. Whichever tone you should agree on, make sure it remains friendly and respects common decency. If several people are managing your Twitter account, try to stick to a similar tone to ensure coherence.
